PACKAGE OPTIONS
Downtown Session $175
A downtown session can be shot on location, in downtown Boone, Iowa
and my downtown studio. Any of these locations offer great
opportunities to achieve an urban feel when approached with an
artful photographic eye. These locations also offer cool
opportunities to use your props. The outcome is outstanding variety.
This shoot requires two hours and
includes three to five wardrobe changes. You will receive a 24-40
image
proof booklet, an 8x10 portrait, and a private online gallery.
City & Country Session $325
My most popular package by FAR! This is the perfect package for the
senior who wants it all! Who needs a studio when Iowa has so many
pretty locations? Central Iowa has outstanding gardens and parks
ideal for portraiture―McHose,
Ledges, Don Williams, Capitol Building, Iowa State, and gorgeous
cornfields and dirt roads to name a few. This is great for the
outdoors person to be captured in their natural element―not
in front of some fake backdrop of mountains etc.
This photo shoot lasts three hours
and includes five wardrobe changes. It also includes in studio
portion and a downtown portion. You will receive a 40-60 image proof
booklet and an 8x10 print , a wallet tin with 24 wallets and a
custom slideshow for graduation and a private online gallery.
All senior sessions must be paid for at time of booking. The
best time for senior photos is between June and September!

SENIOR FAQ
What You Should Wear
When you are choosing outfits for your senior session, try to
remember that we want to make you the focus of your portrait, not
the clothes. Keep the following tips in mind when making your
clothing selections.
Clothing color
Choose solid color clothing when possible. Stripes, bold prints and
patterns look busy and distracting in portraits and draw attention
away from your face.
It’s best to keep the lights with the lights and the darks with the
darks. If you are wearing dark jeans or pants, then try to pick out
a darker shirt or sweater, and vice versa. Avoid strong contrast
between the top and bottom of your outfits. This keeps the attention
on your face, not your clothes. Wrinkles, rips and stains will show
in your portraits. We may be able to fix some of these problems with
artwork, but there may be additional charges.
Try a little variety
If you are doing a session with three outfits, don’t bring three
pairs of blue jeans and three T-shirts. Pick a variety of looks -
casual, dressy and anything in between. If you aren’t sure what to
bring, toss in a few extra things and we will help you choose what
will work best.
Difficult clothing to photograph
Very short skirts or shorts, or clothing that is too tight will
limit the kinds of poses we are able to do.
Looking thinner
Tank tops or sleeveless outfits often make upper arms look heavier
than they really are. Darker colors are more slimming than white or
other light colors.
Don’t forget your feet
Your feet will probably show in some of the poses, so make sure your
shoes and socks coordinate with your outfits. Bare feet, however,
look great in casual portraits. Guys, remember to bring dark shoes
and socks if you plan on wearing a suit or dark clothing.
Most importantly -- Bring clothes you like! If you like what
you’re wearing, you’ll love your portraits.
Remember your
accessories
As you plan your wardrobe for your session, don’t forget about
jewelry, hats, belts, shoes, etc. Showing tattoos, wearing
sunglasses, piercings, watches and bracelets are all fine if you
feel they are part of your look. Of course, some parents might not
share your opinion about these things, so be prepared to remove them
or cover them up for some of the portraits.
Bring some props
Do you have a pet? Are you involved in sports, band, cheerleading or
any other school activity? Bring your pet, sports gear, letter
jacket, musical instruments, car, etc. Got a hobby or do you collect
stuff? Whatever you’re into, bring it on! These are your senior
portraits and they should reflect who you are.
Some for you,
some for Mom
You like serious, Mom likes big smiles―No
Problem! We will capture a variety of poses and expressions so
everyone gets what they want. How about fun & funky for you and more
traditional shots for Mom & Dad? We recommend that you and
your parents discuss your wardrobe, and get the look you want, prior
to your session.
Makeup
If you usually wear makeup, you’ll want to wear some for your
portraits, but don’t overdo it. Also, avoid glitter makeup because
it leaves little white dots on your skin in the portraits. Bring
some translucent powder in case you get shiny and your lipstick or
other make up in case you need a little touch-up.
Hair
Most seniors are picky about their hair, and we like it that way! We
do our best during the session to make sure your hair looks good,
but ultimately your hair is your responsibility. Make sure you check
your hair each time you change clothes. If you plan on getting your
hair cut or colored, try to do it about 2 weeks before your session.
This will give you time for your hair to lose that "just cut" look
or to reschedule your session if you end up getting a bad cut or
unexpected color. If you color your hair, don’t forget to touch up
your roots. |
